1. Hellsongs is a trio from Göteborg, Sweden who specializes in acoustic covers of metal classics. Harriet Ohlsson's gorgeous voice adds a whole new layer to Judas Priest's Breaking the Law.
2. 7 Dollar Taxi hails from Lucerne, Switzerland. Jurassic Heads is a nice little post-pop ditty, with a distinctive early-'60s mod vibe.
3. Also from Göteborg, Detektivbyrån make incredibly melodic folk instrumentals, like E18, from their Hemvägen EP.
4. Lára is a singer/songwriter/instrumentalist who seems to split her time between her home country of Iceland and Spain. Not a bad situation. Check out Þusund Fjoll.
5. Finally, from Portland, Oregon, The Joggers put a fine post-punk edge on their cover of Yes' Long Distance Runaround. They're smart, they've got a great ear, and chops to match.
Hi,
